German graduate student Stefanie Behringer has created this stunning Audi-inspired Trimaran.

Styled under the supervision of Audi's design studio in Munich, the luxury yacht features a streamlined appearance with two outriggers that each hold an electrically-powered jet ski. Furthermore, the top deck can accommodate up to twelve people, while there are four bedrooms below for longer voyages.

The Mercedes-Benz F-CELL World Drive will depart from the Auto Shanghai show in China on April 22nd for the last and longest leg of its round-the-world tour.

It will go via Kazakhstan and Russia then back to Europe, where the tour began in January.

In 41 days, in fact, the three fuel cell powered B-Class F-CELL cars will cover around 14,000 kilometres on this final leg.

Before starting off from China the cars already travelled around 5,300 kilometres in Australia, before they were transported to another continent by air for the last time in the tour.

New Seat crossover/SUV, which was previewed by the IBX concept in Geneva, will be built at Seat plant in Spain alongside Audi Q3

Seat is finally getting its own crossover/compact SUV.

The news is that the IBX Concept the Spanish automaker premiered at the Geneva auto show will go to production on a platform shared with sister brand Audi's Q3.

Seat was already in charge of producing the Audi Q3 at its Martorell, Spain. Now, it will develop its own variant which will be similar to the 3-door IBX Concept (hybrid) but likely be offered in a 5-door body-style like the Q3 and come with more conventional diesel and petrol powertrain offerings.

As we have previously reported, the VED features an advanced powertrain which combines a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbodiesel engine with two electric motors that produce 262 kW (356 PS / 351 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, hit a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), and average 3.76 L/100 km (63 mpg US). More importantly, thanks to plug-in hybrid technology, the concept can travel up to 50 km (31 miles) on electricity alone.

BMW has announced plans to stage the North American debuts of the ActiveHybrid X6, the ActiveHybrid 7-Series, and the Vision EfficientDynamics concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Set to go on sale in December (for a whopping $89,725 USD), the ActiveHybrid X6 features a 400 hp twin-turbocharged V8 engine and two electric synchronous motors located in the two-mode transmission (which produce 91 hp and 86 hp). Powered by a 2.4 kWh NiMH battery pack, the electric motors enable the X6 to travel exclusively on electric power at speeds up to 37 mph (60 km/h) for up to 1.6 miles. In terms of performance, the crossover has a combined output of 480 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. This enables the X6 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds, before hitting a limited top speed of 130 mph. More importantly, the hybrid offers a 20% improvement in average fuel consumption (in EU testing) and a CO2 emissions rating of 231 grams per kilometer.

Daimler AG and Robert Bosch GmbH have announced their intention to expand their long-standing partnership and co-operate in the development and production of electric motors for all-electric vehicles in Europe.

To this end, the companies have signed a letter of intent and begun negotiations to establish a 50:50 joint venture that should be concluded in the first half of this year.

By bundling their competencies, both companies hope to accelerate development advances in electric motors as well as to make accordant synergies accessible.

According to a report by Autocar, the next-generation Mercedes-Benz C-class will offer hybrid technology on nearly every model variant in an attempt to lower the average fuel consumption down to supermini levels. This is according to sources within the company.

The new Mercedes C-Class family is being developed to meet demanding CO2 targets and is expected to launch in late 2013. According to a Mercedes insider, the most frugal diesel-engined model in the range is targeting average emissions of just 100g/km, while the most economic petrol version will come in between 110g/km and 120g/km.
